PERTH DELIVERED. NOW WE’RE HEADING TO IPSWICH.

What a weekend in Perth.

The Supercars rolled into Wanneroo Raceway for the Perth Super 440, with three races packed into three days. And our guy Chaz Mostert was putting the Mobil 1 Optus Toyota Supra to work.

The pace was there all weekend. The results backed it up, too.

Three races. Three top-six finishes.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend.

A TOUGH START. A STRONG COMEBACK.

Race 23 didn’t get off to the cleanest start.

Chaz was baulked on a flying lap during qualifying. That left him 11th on the grid - well outside where the Supra deserved to be.

But the race was a different story.

The team nailed the strategy and called a great stop, giving Chaz the opportunity to chase those cheeseburgers.

By the chequered flag, he’d climbed from 11th to fifth.

Solid points. Solid recovery. And a pretty good sign of what was still to come.

FOURTH GEAR

Race 24 was where things really started to click.

Chaz qualified fifth and was right in the mix with the leading group. He was the first of them to pit on Lap 16, giving him a massive 34-lap run in clean air.

The Supra was flying through the middle stint.

Chaz pushed hard, picked his way through the field and brought it home in fourth.

And if the pace of the car was anything to go by, there was probably a little more left on the table.

Still, fourth place after the way Friday started? We’ll take it.

SUNDAY. SAME STORY.

Sunday threw another challenge at the team, with Chaz qualifying 12th.

Once again, the starting position didn't tell the whole story.

The Supra had serious pace, and Chaz was one of the biggest movers through the opening phase of the race. From 12th, he charged his way up to sixth by Lap 16.

Then things got properly hectic.

A big moment on pit exit had Chaz reacting quickly to keep the Supra pointed in the right direction, but the team kept their heads and got the job done.

Another sixth-place finish.

Another top-six result.

THREE RACES. THREE TOP SIXES.

Perth was a seriously positive weekend for Chaz, the team and the Supra.

Three races. Three top-six finishes. Good pace across the weekend. And, more importantly, plenty of momentum heading into the next round.

The confidence is high, the car is working and the team is looking like they’re finding their groove.

Next stop?

Ipswich.
